Chad's surgery today

Please pray for Chad today as he goes into surgery to mend that foot.
Please pray God will move in a mighty way in the family and they will see the
power of God working.
Cindy said she they have real peace since they have arrived at Mao Clinic so continue to pray for that also.
Thank you all I will keep you undated....
Thanks for praying!

Chad's surgery is over and Terry and Cindy are feeling real good about the surgery.
Please pray that God will begin the healing process on his leg. That he will be able to walk and use his leg normally. Praise you God!

  1. it is the middle of the night and I cannot sleep. I was reading the blog and thought I should update everyone on Chad. He is sleeping (snoring) beside me on the recliner chair as I type this. He is such a trooper and has never complained about all the pain and suffering he has been through in the last year and a half. He is a true blessing from God.
He keeps his foot elevated most of the time since his surgery last tues. The surgery lasted about 3 hours. They put two screw up through his heel that go up into the talus bone(which by the way could not have happened had it not revasculated...thanks to all who prayed for blood flow in that bone!!!It took a long time and isn't fully revasculated but has done VERY WELL CONSIDERING) This is called a tubtalar fusion which basically makes solid his side to side motion in his foot. They also removed alot of arthritis which has already developed in that joint. He has quite bad osteoperosis in the whole foot which comes from lack of weight bearing on it for so long. this is a big concern as it makes his bones thin and more soft and fragile. This should correct itself once he can start walking on it normally. Our next appt. is thurs. April 14th when we will make that wonderful trip back to Minn. to get the staples out and have a new cast put on. We will need to go back every 3 weeks for the next 3 months.
God has been so faithful during the last year and a half since his injury. I just want you all to know that. Sometimes I only dwell on the bad of this situation and I need to share that there have been many answers to prayers and definite signs from god that he is right there with us through this whole mess.
The first night after chad's accident, after having been told that my son's life was over as he knew it, I pleaded with God to give me some kind of comfort. I opened my little Beth Moore study book and there was this verse. It has been my constant promise from him that it will all be ok. Psalm 126:3,5-6 The lord will do great things for me, and I will be filled with Joy. I will sow in tears, then I will reap with songs of joy. If I go out weeping Lord, carrying seeds to sow, I will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with me.
Sometimes I get impatient and don't want to wait on him, but he is always there if I seek him. I believe god has a plan for all of us and we must let him work it out in his time. Which I must say is harder to do than to say.
AFter much prayer ,I do believe that God led us to the Mayo clinic in Minn., to a specialist for the talus bone which has been so badly damaged, to get chad's ankle back to "functional" . It will never be "normal" again but hopefully will have fairly normal abilities. That is our prayer. I appreciate MORE THAN YOU ALL CAN EVER KNOW all the prayers that have been lifted up for him and us. It has been a very tough experience for me and I could not have made it through some of the rough times without all my praying sisters. Although it has been tough, It definitely has been a spritually growing experience and for that I'm thankful. Thanks to all of you prayer warriors out there...you are very dear to me and I love you! please continue to lift us in prayer as we make many more trips back to minn. and for healing in chad's foot. thanks again!!
